Christmas Dinner at Emma's

My friend, Michele and I went to my sister Emma's house for Christmas dinner.

Notice the snowshoes on the Santa.
The Christmas Angel from our childhood tree.
 More Santas with snowshoes.

Each of us made parts of the dinner.
 A cute gravy boat.
Her house is warm and cozy, and she does a wonderful job decorating.

This is a design for Christmas stockings that I have been making for over thirty years. Everyone in the family has one.   They are large and look great tied to the staircase railing  all in a row.

Hints of Christmas at the Jarvis House

A wooden bunny, cast iron stocking holders, a stuffed tree.
 The collection of Teddy bears.
Perhaps a toast some evening this vacation.
Santas on skis from the fifties.
A Scottie and a small picture of the kids.
A lovely vintage printed tablecloth, with old Christmas books on the coffee table, just in case someone would like to read "Twas the Night Before Christmas."

 Wood piled near the stove.

A fox decorated for the holiday.

 Deer in the bathroom.
 Goblets awaiting a family dinner.
 Curling ribbon.

Two hot applesauce cakes for parties.
A funny shiny tree in the pantry.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Makinajian's Poultry Farm and Country Store

If you would like to visit a little gem of a Farm stand in Huntington, visit the Makinajian Poultry Farm .
 The kids can see sheep,

Ducks, Chickens, Turkeys, and Geese (hey, how did he get in there?)
 see wonderful barnyard outbuildings,

the outside of the original farm house with its huge Magnolia tree,
 the Herb garden
 the shopkeepers,
 racks of fresh produce,
 fruit, fresh eggs,

 and of course fresh poultry.
We went to Makinajian's because they carry delicious Jericho Cider, reportedly the best around.  Heat it up for a special treat.

Thanks to the Makinajian family their farm has operated since 1948, and is located at 276 Cuba Hill Road, Huntington, NY 11743. or call  (631) 368-9320 for further information.  It's a great destination for all.
