A wonderful large ruffled yellow variety.A new day lily this year to the garden.A deep maroon halo inside this bloom.A deep purple.
This is my favorite day-glow yellow plant. These are very large and great bloomers. They remind me of the skirts on ballerinas.A new addition this year.Very sweet and small with a blush at the center. The darkest and most velvety day lily in the garden. The lightest day lily, almost white, and is iridescent in the evening. These are tall yellow species day lilies and they also come in butter yellow color.Old fashioned, but very effective in mass plantings, the double roadside day lily.New to the Jarvis Garden this year, purchased from the Long Island Day Lily Society.at their annual plant sale.Yet another new variety to the garden.
Beautiful! Do you ever eat any of your flowers? I saw a great idea for day lily as a summer salad 'bowl' for appetizer portions of egg or pasta or other similar salad...

ReplyDeleteI have an orange double day lily in my garden. I must look into adding more. You have a great collection. They are such good value plants, giving so much colour at this time of year. x

ReplyDeleteI posted about Jarvis House today and linked to it.
Hope you were not trapped on the bridge to R.Moses?
It was a great bore and took us ages.......and no cell phone to warn you....
Beautiful pictures! My Day Lilies did not do well this year...thier stalks did not grow high enough and the flowers were lost inside the foilage...But last year they were spectacular like yours! Thank you for stopping by and you kind comments! Have a great day! Marlene
