We had purchased one of his camellias at the Holiday Market downtown Charleston, and we got one of the business cards from the herb growers. We decided to go check the area out and he was the only person there. He took us on a wonderful walking tour of his property, and he showed us his many beautiful camellias. What we thought would be a visit to a nursery was a visit to a historic site with a family member as the guide! He was astonishing and amazing and a fountain of wisdom and experience. The beautiful creek and marsh behind his house, the live oaks, the azaleas, tall pines, camellias and sasanquas were truly an experience we will never forget--truly a hidden gem! Meeting Skip Madsen was such an unexpected pleasure and someone we shall never forget.Liz Goodmannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7407536677491483664.post-64796048088673784052015-04-04T21:47:28.887-04:002015-04-04T21:47:28.887-04:00HI Lori, I visited the Planting Fields Camellia Ho...HI Lori, I visited the Planting Fields Camellia House a few weeks ago at the height of it's glory - how interesting to hear about a place where these beautiful flowering trees originate from -lisa lewicki hermansonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07657725205665236426noreply@blogger.com
